| Matisse is one of my favorite artists. There were two things I wanted to research. 1. His use of color and line fascinates me. What and who influenced his style of painting? 2. Sometime ago, I went to Paris to see Matisse paintings. I couldn't find many, except for late work: paper cut-outs. At the Hermitage Museum in Russia, I found a large room dedicated to Matisse's finest paintings. Why is he not in France but in other countries? |
